Aloha!
I'm Rachel
As an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant and Postpartum Doula, I have had the honor of supporting hundreds of families during a very intimate, challenging and beautiful time in their lives.

I am mother to an amazing little boy, and he is the reason I have found my passion in supporting families during their feeding journey and postpartum period. As a new mom, I quickly learned that you are not meant to do this alone and asking for help was paramount to my postpartum experience. My breastfeeding journey was not all rainbows and butterflies. Finding the right support was challenging, and then 16 months in, we were hit with the pandemic. We managed to breastfeed for two years. I don't know what I would have done without the support of my family, friends, lactation consultants and my son’s pediatrician. My only regret was not hiring a postpartum doula!

There is not a one size fits all with breastfeeding and although it is natural, it doesn't always come naturally. Breastfeeding can be tough, but with the right support, it can be a beautiful experience for the whole family. I believe that every family is unique and deserves a tailored approach to lactation support. My goal is to support and educate families, so they feel empowered and confident in their decisions on feeding their little one.

As a doula, I provide practical postpartum support to ease the transition into parenthood. From helping new mothers understand their bodies after birth, to assisting in feeding and diapering, I am here to help make those first few weeks and months as stress-free as possible. Whether it’s offering advice on postpartum recovery, or tips for baby’s sleep patterns, my priority is to provide the support new parents need to feel comfortable in their new role.

When I am not supporting new families, I am enjoying time outside on the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii. There is a good chance you will find my son and I climbing the lava rocks at Keiki Ponds, swinging from the monkey bars at Old A’s or battling it out on the air hockey table at the Fun Factory. I enjoy baking and attempting to garden. Avid animal lover with a small milkweed garden where I have released over 500 monarch butterflies. I have successfully rehabbed a sparrow that fell out of my coconut tree but quickly learned I’d rather take care of human babies. And I have cat that is shaved like a lion, his name is Moe.

I understand that this is a delicate time in your life and it’s my mission to hold space for you and your family, so you feel heard, supported and confident in your choices. I believe that a positive and nurturing experience during this time can make all the difference in your postpartum journey. Whether you are a first-time parent or an experienced one, I am here for you. Please reach out if you have any questions about the services I provide.
